Fragrance Oil Supplier Dataset
Every fragrance oil supplier we have checked by hand — country, scent families, minimum order quantity, certifications, and where they ship. Including the ones we removed, and what we observed when we removed them.
Free to use for anything, including commercially, under CC BY 4.0. All we ask is a link back.
39 of 57 (68%) publish certifications · 45 of 57 (79%) state where they ship · 43 of 57 (75%) publish a minimum order quantity. Every figure on this page is counted from the file below, so you can recompute all of them.
Methodology
Every supplier was found by hand and checked against its own website. verified_at is the date of that check; an empty verified_at means no check is on record, never that a check failed. Fields are left empty when the supplier does not publish the information — nothing is inferred or estimated. Delisted suppliers are included with the observation that removed them, stated as what was seen and when. min_order_qty is recorded as the supplier words it, so it is not directly comparable between rows.
Why the rejections are included
A directory that lists only the suppliers it likes is marketing. What makes this dataset worth citing is that it publishes its own removals and its own mistakes — including one entry that was delisted over a typo in our URL, not anything the supplier did.
So each delisted row carries what was observed and the date it was observed, never a characterisation. "Host did not resolve on 2026-08-05" is checkable. "Defunct" is not, and it would be unfair to a business that is simply out of scope.
Delisted suppliers
No DNS A record; host did not resolve when checked on 2026-08-05.

Domain resolves and returns HTTP 200, but serves a 627-byte domain-listing page titled "jabonarium.com for sale" (checked 2026-08-05). No business operating at the domain.
Live business when checked on 2026-08-05 (HTTP 200). Sells perfumery courses, kits, and books; the site does not offer fragrance oils, so it is out of scope for this directory rather than closed.

The dataset is archived at CERN on Zenodo under the permanent identifier 10.5281/zenodo.22157303. That is the concept DOI: it always resolves to the newest version, so a citation using it never goes stale when the data is updated. The files are also mirrored on GitHub.
What is in the file
- slug, name, website — identity, and the site the data was checked against.
- status —
activeordelisted. - country, city — where the business operates.
- min_order_qty — recorded as the supplier words it, so it is not directly comparable between rows.
- ships_to, certifications, scents — semicolon-separated inside one cell.
- verified_at — the date of the check. Empty means no check is on record; it never means a check failed.
- delist_reason — for delisted rows, what was observed and when.
What this dataset does not claim
- It is not exhaustive. It is every supplier we have checked, not every supplier that exists.
- Empty fields mean the supplier does not publish that information — nothing here is estimated or inferred.
- A verification date is a point in time. A supplier can change its terms the day after it was checked.
- Inclusion is not endorsement, and delisting is not an accusation.
