Floral Garden

A garden bouquet that survives saponification.

What does Floral Garden smell like?

Rose and geranium together, because rose alone fades in soap and geranium reinforces it โ€” the classic soaper's fix. Lavender anchors the blend, ylang adds an exotic richness, and a little vanilla warms the base. Cured four to six weeks, so the scent has settled and the bar is hard.

What's in it

The fragrance blend, by percentage of the blend โ€” the same formula as Floral Soap Fragrance Recipe (Cold-Process Safe).

  • Rose fragrance oil (CP-safe) 30%
    the romantic floral heart
  • Lavender fragrance oil 25%
calming, and a reliable cold-process performer
  • Geranium fragrance oil 20%
rosy-green lift that boosts staying power
  • Ylang-ylang fragrance oil 15%
    exotic floral depth
  • Vanilla fragrance oil 10%
warmth โ€” vanillin can darken the bar over time
Fragrance load

Both numbers come straight out of our published usage-rate table โ€” the same table we tell everyone else to work from. The hard ceiling for any specific oil is that oil's own IFRA certificate, and where the certificate is lower, the certificate wins.

Safety โ€” Rinse-off skin product

  • ยทRinse-off use only โ€” lather, wash, rinse. Not for use on the face if you have sensitive skin, and not for babies.
  • ยทPatch test on your inner forearm before using a scented soap for the first time, especially if you react to fragrance.
  • ยทKeep out of eyes. If soap gets in an eye, rinse with plenty of water.
  • ยทLet the bar dry between washes on a draining dish. A bar left in water dissolves fast and loses its scent.

What has to be done before this can legally be sold

A soap bar is a cosmetic in the UK and EU. Before it can be sold it needs a Cosmetic Product Safety Report from a qualified assessor and notification by a Responsible Person (UK SCPN or EU CPNP). In the US, MoCRA requires facility registration and product listing.

The full Annex III allergen declaration is set by the specific oils used and comes off their supplier certificates. Those oils have not been sourced, so there is no allergen list to publish yet โ€” and we would rather print that than a guess.

This is on the page rather than in a drawer because it is the honest reason there is a waitlist instead of a buy button.

Or make it yourself

The full method is published free โ€” oils, ratios, temperatures, cure times, and where to buy each oil from a verified supplier. Nothing is held back.
