Gourmand Bakery

Vanilla, caramel, and warm spice out of the oven.

What does Gourmand Bakery smell like?

Vanilla and caramel do the heavy lifting, brown sugar deepens them, and a whisper of cinnamon gives it the fresh-from-the-oven edge. A little butter-pastry note is what turns it from generic sweet into an actual bakery. The format everyone reaches for in winter.

Both numbers come straight out of our published usage-rate table — the same table we tell everyone else to work from. The hard ceiling for any specific oil is that oil's own IFRA certificate, and where the certificate is lower, the certificate wins.

Safety — Not a skin product

  • ·Never apply to skin. This is a candle fragrance load, several times the amount allowed in anything worn on the body.
  • ·Burn on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, curtains, and anything that catches. Never leave a burning candle unattended or near children or pets.
  • ·Trim the wick to about 5 mm before every light. A long wick soots, smells worse, and burns hotter than the jar is designed for.
  • ·Keep burns to about four hours and stop when roughly 10 mm of wax is left — below that the jar can overheat and crack.

What has to be done before this can legally be sold

Fragrance oils are classified under CLP for flammability and skin sensitisation. The finished candle carries the CLP label, allergen list, and the safety warnings for the format — none of which exists yet, because nothing has been produced.

This is on the page rather than in a drawer because it is the honest reason there is a waitlist instead of a buy button.

Or make it yourself

The full method is published free — oils, ratios, temperatures, cure times, and where to buy each oil from a verified supplier. Nothing is held back.
